The Great Britain team won the prestigious heads-up championship Poker Nations Cup 2008. Combined teams from Germany, Holland, Sweden and the US took part in the competition.

Poker Terminology
All-in – «âà-áàíê»; ïîñòàâèòü âñå ñâîè ôèøêè â áàíê.
All-in – A player may declare himself "all in" and bet all of his chips into the pot.
Ante – A small amount of chips placed into the pot before each hand.
Bankroll – All money of the player for game
Bet – To put chips into the pot
Bet half the pot– To put half chips into the pot
Bet the pot – To put chips into the pot
Big blind – The larger of the two forced preflop bets. The player to the left of the small blind posts the big blind, the blinds ensure there is always money in the pot and "action" on every hand.
Blind – To put chips “blind”. Big blind and Small blind.
Board – “Table”. The cards in the middle of the table that are shared by everyone.
Bring-in – The first bet (except Blind and Ante), which you must do for beginning to play in this deal.
Button – "dealer button" indicates who is effectively the dealer
Buy-in – Amount of money which is necessary for taking part in a game
Call – To bet an amount only equal to the previous bet. You must "call" other players bets to stay in the hand or you can raise, otherwise you must fold your hand.
Card room – The part of casino where people play cards
Cash-in – admission, buying chips and joining the game
Cash out – exit, the player goes out the game and change chips for money
Center pot –the main pot
Check – In a betting round players can "check" the hand and continue to play without wagering any more money.
Deal – deal
Dealer – man or player who deals the cards. The player who deal the cards nominally (in on-line poker).
Deck – a collection of cards (usually 52 cards).
Drop – Fold
Fixed limit, Limit, FL – the highest or the smallest bets are definitely limited
Flop – First three common board cards
Flush draw – The situation when a player don’t have one more card for getting ‘flush’.
Fold – drop
Forced bet – compulsory bet. Blind and Ante.
Hand – player’s cards or deal.
Kicker – A kicker is a player's highest card that is used to break ties in poker hands.
Lay down – Revelation of players’ cards.
Limit – Poker with set betting limits. Fixed limit and Pot limit.
Main pot – Center pot
No limit – poker where the highest bet isn’t limited.
Poker room – room for poker
Pot – A common amount of money which was put into a pot.
Pot limit, PL – A betting structure in which the maximum size bet is the size of the pot plus the amount you would bet if you reraised.
Preflop – The stage of a holdem game before flop
Raise – To make a bet larger than the previous bet
Rake – This is the fee the poker rooms charge players. It is usually a percentage of the pot.
Re-buy – in some tournaments players have an opportunity to buy some extra chips. Usually the amount of Re-buys is limited.
Re-raise – To make a bet larger than Raise
River – The fifth and last community board card
Satellite – A mini-tournament to gain an entry into a larger tournament.
Showdown – the final round in a poker match
Side pot – Side pot
Split, Split pot – the situation when the pot is divided in half because players have equal hands.
Stack – An adjective describing general amount of chips
Tie – finish competition with identical results
Turn – This is the fourth board card that comes out , the card after the flop.
