Backdoor – the situation in flop or turn, when the player has the opportunity to collect Straight (Backdoor straight) or flush (Backdoor flush) in Turn or River.

Bad beat – A bad beat is a loss in which the losing player had the better odds on the winning player earlier in the hand.

Bluff – To bluff is to make a bet, when you know you have nothing. When you have no hand you hope that you are not called by your opponents.

Bullet – The starting hand AA.

Catch – The situation when the player gets the most necessary card.

Check-raise – A player "checks" the hand, to see what his opponents play will be, but has every intention of re-raising if his opponent raises him.

Connectors – Connectors (connected) are hole cards are consecutive, like 67 or QA.

Cowboy – The holder starting hand King

Drill – three cards one class

Duck – The holder starting hand Two

Family pot – When almost all players are contending for a pot, the pot is often considered a family pot.

Fast play – aggressive game with big bets and raises.

Feeler bet – small bet for checking hands power of another players.

Fill up –to get full house

Fish – bad player (usually beginner and inexperienced).

Fishhoocks – Jack

Free card – the situation when the player has the opportunity to look the next card free, without putting money into the pot.

Freeroll – 1. The situation when some players have absolutely equal hands (closed cards), but after flop one of them has the opportunity to get flush. 2. Free tournament without buy in.

Head to head, Heads up – face to face

Inside straight – straight with one missing card in the middle. Ex., 3467

Key card – the only necessary card in this moment

Loose – the player who plays a lot of hands and fold cards very late.

Monster – strong lossless combination.

Move in – go all in

Nut flush – the oldest flush in this table

Nuts – the situation in flop when a player has lossless hand.

One gap, gap – the same with Inside straight.

Open card – card which is opened

Open-ended straight – double sided straight-dro. Ex., 6789.

Out – the cards which are left in the deck and may be better for player’s hand (usually when players go all-in and have opened their cards)

Overcard – any card which is higher than cards on flop

Pocket – “closed” cards which players have

Pocket pair – pair in the hands

Quads – four cards of one rank

Rainbow – three or four common cards with different suits.

Runner – This means a card that was drawn to help someone's hand. It is generally used with card which came from turn or river.

Semi bluff – bluff with good chance to get a good hand on turn or river.

Slow play – that is roughly the opposite of bluffing: betting weakly or passively.

Steal the pot – the situation where using aggressive tactics without having strong hand helps a player become a winner.

Steal the blind – the situation where using aggressive tactics without having strong hand helps a player win the pot consisting of blinds.

Tight player – the player who plays only with strong hand, he usually discard a weak one

Top pair – the highest possible pair without taking pocket pair into consideration.

Trips – three cards of one rank

Underdog – the player who has less chances to win than others

Wheel – it is the poker hand A2345, the lowest possible straight.
